Day 8 – Lakeside

We made a visit to nearby Perth today (30 odd kilometres away) to return the wedding caterers bowls and plates and to have a look around the town. Population Approx 6,500. The town was established as a military settlement in the early 1800’s. Many of the settlers after that were Scottish stonemasons and as a result there are plenty of impressive stone buildings in the town.

Spent the afternoon on the lake kayaking, rowing the little dingy, swimming and then sitting around the fire pot roasting marshmallows and watching the sun set. 21 degrees at 8:45pm. Nice, but it’s also when the mosquitos come out.
